The hard part isn't asking AI to build something. It's giving it enough context to build the right thing—and knowing how to recognise when it isn't.

CLARITY
Define what good means.
“Fast,” “responsive,” and “user-friendly” need specifics. I define what users should be able to do, how the product should behave, which constraints matter, and what success looks like.

PLANNING
Make the important decisions early.
Before implementation, I research solutions, think through architecture, map dependencies and edge cases, and prepare a roadmap. Small decisions can become expensive to change later.

DIRECTION
Give AI the context to make better choices.
I write requirements, instructions, and guardrails that explain what we are building, why it matters, what to avoid, and how to evaluate the result. Missing context invites assumptions; a clear brief gives AI a better chance of following the right path.

IMPLEMENTATION
Stay accountable to the code.
AI agents can take on substantial implementation work. I stay close in the IDE, review diffs, understand what is changing, and step in when needed. Delegating tasks does not remove the need for architectural judgment.

DESIGN
Be specific about the experience.
An attractive first draft is not automatically the right design. I direct hierarchy, typography, spacing, composition, interaction states, and responsive behaviour. “Make it premium” is not a design brief.

VERIFICATION
Prove that it works.
I review the result, investigate failures, test edge cases and critical paths, and check how the parts work together. Generated output is a starting point; release requires evidence that the product behaves as intended.
